EXECUTIVE SITUATION 03 · ORGANIZATIONAL CONDITIONS

Unclear Ownership

When responsibilities are defined, but expectations are not aligned.

A department has a defined mandate, yet stakeholders hold different expectations about what it should deliver and which responsibilities it should assume.

The consequences often extend beyond the department: others compensate, decisions slow down, frustration grows and accountability becomes blurred.

How ON SILK approaches it

I start with confidential stakeholder interviews to identify recurring patterns, differing expectations and their impact across the organization.

Based on these findings, I develop and present options for addressing the underlying dynamics. The sponsor decides which approach to pursue.

I then support implementation through facilitated workshops, executive coaching, team coaching or a combination — depending on what the situation requires.

Throughout the engagement, I make my different roles and responsibilities explicit, maintaining clarity about when I am acting as an advisor, facilitator or coach.
